At just seven years old, Sean Hutton took his passion and concern for polar bears and founded the first Polar Bear Walk in support of WWF’s conservation work in the places this species calls home. Mobilizing his neighbors, friends, Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School, and community in Guelph, Ontario, each year, in 2017, he marked his five years of action with WWF urging Canadians across the country to join him for WWF-Canada’s first-ever national Polar Bear Walk.

POLAR BEAR WALK – Pope Frances Elementary
The 2016-2017 school year marked the opening of Pope Francis Catholic Elementary School. Symbolically walking along with the polar bear over 2 kilometers with student-created posters, the school’s new teachers and students brought together the school community with their first ever Polar Bear Walk to help Arctic wildlife.
A Polar Bear Walk with Claude Watson School
Mr Handscomb, a teacher at Claude Watson School for the Arts, helped his students take action against climate change by integrating the Polar Bear Walk into an existing school trip. These dedicated students were able to bring awareness for the community on the threats of climate change on Arctic species as they symbolically marched to a school concert at Roy Thompson Hall.
POLAR BEAR WALK 2017 – Arabella
